A Tribute to the Songs of Dottie Rambo

11:00am. Today we celebrate the songs of Dottie Rambo. Her songs have touched millions. Her voice heard around the world, her heart an open book. Joyce Reba Luttrell (Dottie), born amid the depression, grew up in poverty. At twelve years old, she became a born-again Christian and committed to write and sing only Christian music. Her father gave her an ultimatum, give up her faith or leave home. Still a child, completely on her own, she met Buck Rambo and married him shortly after. The rest, as they say, is history. A composer of more than 2500 songs, her words are heartfelt and honest, speaking to the very soul offering hope in our Savior. On Mother’s Day weekend, 2008, when her tour bus was blown off the road in a storm, Dottie met her Savior that she had written and sung about her entire life. More than 4000 people attended her memorial service at Christ Church in Nashville. Then President George W. Bush sent a flag that had flown at the white house the day of her passing. The Christian community mourned but her legacy continues to minister. Enjoy our tribute to the Songs of Dottie Rambo.
